Kargadoor online: Me and my body
Thu 26 March 2020, 19:30 - 22:00
FreeThe Kargadoor dialogue goes online for the first time because of the Corona crisis. Going online in a dialogue takes some getting used to, but it is not difficult at all! Join in and sign up. You will receive a link in advance to login to zoom.
Does the relationship with your body change because of the Corona crisis, now that we keep more social distance and are more housebound? How do you experience your body, which taboos play a role and where do they come from? Do we feel comfortable and safe to talk about it? Share your experiences, desires, insights and actions in this first online dialogue.
Me and my Body
From the moment we came into the world, we started getting clues and rules around our bodies and it’s interaction with the public sphere. Where exposure is permitted and where it is not, which dress codes are expected from different locations, which norms and traditions exist around cloths on specific occasions, but also ideas of what we can and cannot wear based on our sex and appearence.
Even though equal representation of bodies, body positivity, and inclusion of different abilities and disabilities are being in the center of the public discussion more than ever before, how much do we judge our bodies and how much do others still shame them? What kind of taboos exist around them and what role media play forming the ideas around our bodies? Do we feel comfortable or safe talking about them?
Do you want to share your experiences and struggles and hear those of others? Sign up using the red button on top of the page. Your neighbors, friends and relatives are also welcome to join!
Theme of Belonging
We are social beings; not only do we want to be who were, we also want to belong to a group. Where do you feel most at home? How actively are you looking for new groups and circles? What do you need to find those, or expand them? We are going to discuss ‘belonging’ to gather new insights and find connection.

What is a dialogue?
A dialogue table is a place where six to eight people come together to talk about a specific theme. A trained dialogue facilitator guides the conversation and makes sure that everyone is heard and everyone gets involved. In a dialogue the goal is not to win others about to your perspective, but to listen with an open mind to their experiences.
